Log for book

Artist in the 60’s left a mark in history that would soon eliminate segregation and allow black artists to rise in the business world. Black artists were struggling to reach fame and richness like white men. All Shook Up, by Glen C. Altschuler describes about African Americans and white contributing to the new genre of rock n roll during the 1960’s. African Americans did not have it easy as the white folks. If African Americans artist did not succeed, then the world would be different in which people live in. Several African Americans were being hated because they were black and feared they would bring disorder among people, especially teenagers. Several artists who have succeeded are still producing music that attracts newer fans.
By the end of All Shook Up, Altschuler illustrates that most of rock n roll artist famous during the 60’s are losing reputation such as Jerry Lewis, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley. Jerry Lewis had a good reputation for songs like “Great Balls of Fire”, but he made the mistake of marrying his cousin. His marriage greatly affected his career because it is a sin for a family member to marry with one another and have a family. The marriage itself was not a big controversy; it was the fact that he married a girl who was 15 years old at the time of their marriage. Unlike Jerry Lewis, little Richard had a harsh time that he had to quit to give time to himself to think. Although Little Richard quit his music career, Altschuler explains that little Richard enrolled at Oakwood College to continue his education as well as find inner peace. Little Richard went from the fast pace life of traveling to play concerts to slow pace relaxing life.

Opinionator #1 (revised)

In recent news, in the city of San Jose, citizens are protesting against the economic system in
America. Few citizens have set up tents to protest in front of the city hall. The location where the protesters are located is perfect because many people pass by city hall in the morning and afternoon. On one aspect I agree with their actions because they are standing up for what they believe. People's voices need to reach senators so they can improve the economic systems, which controls money in America and establish jobs for those who are unemployeed.

On the other hand, protesters are not creating a big ruckus, but they are vandalising the camping site at San Jose City Hall. ABC news has shared videos of people recording homeless urinating around the city hall instead of going to a restroom.  It is fine for people to join forces to protest about financial issues, but there is a line that should not be crossed. One of the protesters calls himself “Cracker” and did the outrages at city hall. He climbed up the brick wall at city hall and is standing on top of it with his protesting signs. Hopefully, the man does not fall down while he sits on top of the wall.  Such incident would demonstrate San Jose police department could not succeed to bring the man down from the brick wall. Protesting should be done in a formal, professional, and respectful matter. I believe the protesters who are camping at city hall are misrepresenting San Jose because they are mostly homeless. People who protest should know what they are fighting for so the city council considers the protesters suggestions to resovle economic issues seriously. I believe that U.S.A. senates and representatives should have resolved some economic issues in America.

Scholarly Article on Rock N Roll

Rock N Roll music created diversity for all listeners during 1960’s. Dj players would play variety of artists, both white and few black. However “Miller apologizes … the author claims Brewing apologized for excluding African American artist from the 5oth anniversary of Rock N Roll". From the information obtained by the author, Miller says that the anniversary will feature Black artists such as Bo Didley, james brown and Lennny Kravitz. The author found Dr. William McKeen who said that African Americans are not left out of the 50th year anniversary. At the event there were beer cans that had famous rock n roll artist from different colors. The Dr. said African Americans are shown on the cans at the event of the anniversary along with other famous white artist in rock n roll. The Dr. McKeen also said that the music of rock n roll symbolizes the interactions between white and black. Rock n Roll blended to different culture, that of African American rhythm with white county music. Thanks to Rock ‘N’ Roll, African Americans are known for their change and dedication in the music industry. Most African American artists had to face many obstacles to reach the top as white artists.

Beethoven “symphony 9” I prefer to listen to classical music when I go to sleep. I would recommend Beethoven and for anyone who wants to listen to a song that relaxes the mind.
La senora Dynamita “No te metas con mi Cucu” I myself do not know how to dance cumbia well,  but this song is good to listen..... I every time I listen to this song it brings memories of my mom and dad dancing really well at parties.
Daft Punk “Derezzed” daft punk has many successful songs well known by people, but this song was written for the remade movie Tron. The beat of the new song fit with the vibe of the movie.
